Referral Work

For the opening shot i used this shot to introduce the show/project so u could see me the host, saying the rules and explaining what we are doing.

The shot type to the left was the main shot we see continuously through the piece because we get to see everyone and there reactions to the different types of food, i wanted this so the audience could see the discomfort that the participants was going through and make the audience feel the same way which is similar to the way James Corden does his by starting with a full view of everyone taking part but he does close ups when they have eaten the food to see their full reaction which i wanted to recreate because some of the reactions was so good, the screen shot below shows nate in discomfort because he is being asked the question first, which he struggles to get the correct answer. i wanted to create something so the audience could witness something funny which with most of my shots your can see the reactions clearly which gives the effect that i wanted to create. 

 On, the right you can see some of my graphics that are included in my edit, i wanted to put these in to make it more funny especially Kristen Bell and Kate Mckinnon, because i wanted to show the different between the two of which Charley was talking about which she got the two actresses mixed up and to make the situation funnier, i thought of adding the pictures of the actresses as well as earlier in the edit you see a picture of my friend Kyle because again Charley kept mentioning him because he was sat watching the filming.

My text graphics i chose to do it similar to the Lip Sync Battle opening credits graphics, because i like the show and it seemed fitting for what i was planning on doing, and they seemed quite edgy and the colour scheme i picked went really well together, and further in my opening sequence you can see that i have given certain texts effects because i wanted to create the similarities to the Lip Sync Battle opening sequence, so i gave one bit a glitch effect so it didn't get to boring.

When filming, i did have to go from plan A to plan B because I was running out of time to film, but I'm glad I did come up with a plan B, because if I didn't I would have really struggled, even though it didn't go to plan as much as I would have hoped, the things that went well was the reactions I got from the participants, was what I expected and more. I also had all the food I wanted which was a success, with the help from Alice to bring the food on which went well, I could have suggested her to walk on from the side of the camera instead of through the back cameras, so she wouldn't be getting in the way of the shot. the problems when filming was when we where half way through filming one of the camera batteries was dying, and only had 3 minuets left so I had to with it to a different camera and put that one in the camera I just got the battery from because I wanted certain shots, so I had to swap the battery that was in the camera pointing towards holly and Nate, and put it in the middle camera because that was the main shot I was going to be using, so I ended up losing the last bit of the shoot because of the battery. I also had an audience who decide to leave half way through the start of it because they had enough of watching it but I should have asked them to leave quietly. my editing was a success because I knew where to cut and when to cut and I got the important parts into the finished piece. If I had longer time I would have had a longer edit but where I ended I believe is a good place to do so.

the sounding was done by three shot gun mics pointed at who was in shot, I had the camera pointing them all used as the back up just incase the pics wasn't turned on or if something went wrong with them, however because the sound was better on that mic I used it mainly for the sound for the whole edit and because the sound from the other footage didn't sound to great, it was quieter then the footage from the middle camera which is why I used the sound from that camera, and there was no need for sound effects as the participants pretty much gave me them by themselves, which was great. the music wasn't particularly what I wanted to use because as stated I wanted to use a cover of high school never ends from bowling for soup but instead I found something that I thought is better for the opening credits.

 I did a risk assessment and a recce form for my first location the five bells but because I had to go to plan b to get my project done I had to redo all the risk assessments and recce forms for the social hub at college which is below as you can see I completed before filming my project.

Below you can see that I created a form for the people who where taking part in my project so they could give me permission to use there faces within my footage all four of them signed before filming

I chose to do something like the graphics from lip sync battle because they seemed more fun and edgy and glitchy which seemed right for my project and how I wanted the finished.

The music for my opening sequence to my ending credits is different, the music to the left is called everywhere I go by ONLAP which is a royalty free song. 

The song to the right is the song I chose for my end credits because it had a different feel to the way I wanted it to end giving at a bit more relaxed but still a bit of rock so chilled rock id say, the artist is called riot and the song is called target practice. same again it is a royalty free song.

even though I have used the songs above my original idea was to have my friend from music to do a cover of high school never ends by bowling for soup for my opening sequence and ending credits.

However, I didn't want any music to be in the background of the actual project because you wouldn't be able to hear the participants talking which with the content they where producing I thought it was a good idea to not use any music because it would over power and people watching wouldn't really know what to listen to.

Above you can watch my final piece which I will admit isn't the full edit that I was hoping for but it is about half of it which still has some great content from all parties involved filming this project I will have to say has been the most fun with everyone included from my opening sequence to the actual game show its self.
