characteristics and context of a multi-camera.

 characteristics of a multi-camera project.

The link below shows the difference between a single camera and a multi-camera tv show.
  • A live audience.
  • a set made
  • having multiple cameras not just a and b
  • the uses of time codes
Having multiple cameras in one shoot makes it an effective shoot because they can get more angles and more coverage, for less time and a lot cheaper then a single camera, and also with using the time codes you are able to link the footage together easier and properly. which time codes are used to sync the cameras up so when you go from shoot to editing it is easier to link the footage together and again it can save a lot of time.

Context.
    having multiple cameras
Multiple different cameras are set up around a point to get a variety of angles and shots that blend in well together when editing. for example in shows like graham Norton's show every week there are multiple cameras to get different places and and angles around the room and set.
An example of this, I will look at this clip and screenshot every different camera.

This is done so that a live video can be more interesting than just one shot whereas one camera would make it seem very one toned and boring. with a shoot that isn't uploaded live there are still many reasons to use more than one camera or just have a b camera, some of these are that it will save time editing, so that scenes seem more interesting with different shot types that can be swapped during scenes.
I am using multi camera as this is the best way to record e sports to be able to get different reactions at once while people play a game and I am able to see many peoples reaction live to what is happening. if I weren't using multi camera to film this it would be ever strange looking, there would only be one live reaction and I don't think it would look professional or link together.

-MOOD BOARDS-

this is a mood board to my opening sequence with how I kind of want it to look like with a few bits to the background music going with it on how I imagine it to turn out.

this is a small mood board of what I have planed to do for my project and how it should make some people feel.

above you can see that I got a survey done on the fact if people had even heard of spill you guts or fill your guts and I got mixed responses on if they liked the show or even if they liked James corden even with those responses I did get some good ones such like that it was funny and quote "sides hurt by laughing".

The Rocky Horror Picture Show - Time Warp
In the short clip of the time warp we are shown different shot types from keeping on the cast and doing a wide pan across the audience to show them up on there feet too dancing along to the song, with each line the cameras are also concentrating on the specific character for example when Magenta is doing her solo in the song it follows her around the stage keeping concentration on her instead of what ever else is happening on the stage, which with close ups and medium long shots and medium close ups.

One Day At A Time - Elena and Syd's first kiss (2x06)

this is scene is from one of the latest hit sitcom shows one day at a time on Netflix it shows the progression between the main character and her new love interest Syd which this show shows the different diversity.

the different angles with in this scene, start of with Elena hanging out the window and then goes to a wide shot where we see both of them Syd leaning against the rail and Elena come out from her room, and then we see them talking and Sad finding out that Elena likes her more then she realised, when each time they are talking the camera focuses on the character talking for example Elena asks Syd  "what message? what did you receive?" and then it goes back and forth while they finish there conversation, however it doesn't break the 180 degree rule during this scene. while still getting to see both there faces and emotions.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DESENSITIZATION

watching lots of things repeatedly and getting used to what is going on, for example watching a horror film and getting used to someone getting their head chopped off.
films that use this is saw or scream where they try and be more gory with each film they bring out so when you watch the latest film and then go back and re-watch the first one your not as scared or shocked when watching it because you are used to it.

CULTIVATION

this theory is where you watch something so much that you convince yourself that something is real, normal and acceptable, which it might not be good. which also some times the messages can not be true. E.G. when saying that knife crimes are on the up and you would start to believe that the area is bad and you wouldn't want to go there because it has a bad representation.

HYPODERMIC NEEDLE

This theory is related to propaganda or convinces you something is happening in a way of brainwashing for example war of the worlds.

TWO-STEP FLOW

opinion leaders decode a form of media and tell people who are not clear or are more passive about their opinions on something which the word spreads. e.g. influences such like teachers or even your friend

USES AND GRATIFICATION

Why people consume media
-entertainment and diversion
-information and education
-social interaction
-personal identity
e.g. I'm obsessed with paramore and it has become my life.

Following these theories I feel that desensitisation because you would be watching people eat horrible food and the more you watch it the less you will feel weirded out because you are getting used to people eating horrible food such like pigs hoof or a fish eyes, which those are examples of the type of food they may eat and that you would get grossed out, but with the theory of desensitisation behind my project, then you won't get as grossed out with people watching people eating rotten food.

  3. this is a good blog you do need more sources of research such as surveys and interviews and if they are on other pages they need to be put on this page
